Joel Trekell

This is Joel Trekell's Hauptwerk setup. He is using a 3 Classic Organ Keyboards and a pedalboard which he has midified himself. He also made the oak console himself with the help of

Don Lewns

This is Don Lewns Hauptwerk organ setup. He has built a case for his 3 M-Audio Keystation 61es. Don uses a Behringer FCB1010 for his expression pedals and toe pistons.

Hauptwerk is amazingly scalable. From a very humble start (1 keyboard & an old laptop), I've spent five years building one of the largest permanent, public HW installations anywhere. With 44 channels, 46 speakers, and 8560 watts, it's a beast, but HW handles everything gracefully. The console is a rebuilt one from a real pipe organ, while the speakers are all custom-designed for the project, ranging from 1.5 cu.ft bipolars to 20 cu. ft. subs.

I first discovered the Hauptwerk software in May of 2008. I could see straight away that it would give me organ sounds or a quality that I had wanted all my life! After experimenting using a single MIDI keyboard, and then with a 2 manual 13-note Technics organ console, I set about designing and building the console which you see here. It took me about three months. It was finished in about June 2009. I used a 30-note C-R pedalboard (bought via eBay and meeting RCO specs) from a Methodist chapel and built the console around it. I now have about 25 sample sets and will expand the organ further this year (2010).

Randall Mullin

This is Randall Mullin's Hauptwerk setup. He has used the Classic Organ Works keyboard stacks, pedal board, and swell shoes for his setup. He also has custom key cheeks built to fit his keyboards. 3 years ago I made a console with two manuals from Fatar, and a 30 note DIY BDO pedalboard. For midifying the pedalboard, I used Jordan Petkov's encoder, for the stop swithes I made an 8*8 matrix encoder according to Tom Scarff. For the crescendo and swell pedals, I used Fatar's modulation potentiometers. I am planning an extension to 3 manuals soon. For more illusion I have made a "prospekt" from PVC pipeline.
